Celebrating 30 years of history

The history of PortAventura World began in May 1995, with the inauguration of PortAventura Park, an ambitious project that aspired to become the first major theme park in Spain.

From day one, the park captured the public’s attention with its avant-garde attractions, including Dragon Khan, the roller coaster with the highest looping loop, which became a park icon.

Throughout these 30 years, PortAventura World has grown to become a benchmark complex in Europe.

In 2002 it expanded its offer with Caribe Aquatic Park, originally known as Costa Caribe, a Caribbean-themed water park that has become a refreshing option for the summer months.

But the real leap came in 2017 with the opening of Ferrari Land, a park dedicated to the world of motor racing and speed, with rides as impressive as the 112-metre-high Red Force.

Today, PortAventura World is much more than an amusement park: it is a complete tourist destination that combines adrenaline, shows, gastronomy and themed hotels.

Options for the little ones

Children have their own world of adventure in areas such as SésamoAventura, where they can go on rides such as Tami Tami, a roller coaster adapted for the little ones, or enjoy relaxing rides in hot air balloons and canoes rides. They can also discover Ferrari Land with attractions tailored to their needs, such as Junior Red Force, which allows them to experience speed with a gentler version of the star roller coaster.

Unforgettable shows for the whole family

PortAventura World is not only adrenaline, but also a destination where excitement is experienced through live shows. Throughout the day, the park offers a wide variety of shows that vary depending on the time of year, from musical and theatrical performances to acrobatic displays and special effects.

Among the most popular are Aloha Tahiti, a Polynesian dance show that transports audiences to an island paradise, and West Gold Frenzy, where duels recreate the true spirit of the Wild West. Also worthy of mention is Fiesta Mexicana, a high-energy show with live music and dancers, set in the Mayan civilisation in Mexico.

To mark its 30th anniversary, PortAventura Park has prepared three exclusive shows to make the celebration even more special. Un Viaje Fascinante is a staging with choreography, acrobatics and live music that takes in the different themed areas of the park

At nightfall, the excitement moves to Lake Mediterrània with FiestAventura, a night-time show where water, fire, light and pyrotechnics combine to create an impressive spectacle. And to close the day with a great dose of joy, PortAventura Parade fills the streets with a parade of floats, characters and dancers who make their way through the park in an explosion of colour and fun.

PortAventura World not only offers thrills and unforgettable shows, but also a varied gastronomic offer that transports visitors to different corners of the world.
